Come Meet Our Staff!

David F. Moore , Pastor

Jesus, the Word of God, missions, the church; my wife, my children, people; running, reading, seeing new places; medium-rare steak, chocolate, and cheesecake - these are some of the things I love. Obviously, some of these loves (Jesus, for example) are of a higher order than some of the other loves (such as cheesecake).

I am a native Georgian. I studied at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida; Candler School of Theology at Emory University; and St. Mary's College at St. Andrews University in Scotland. My jobs have included washing dishes at IHOP, flipping burgers at McDonald's, counselor and summer camp director at Camp Glisson, teaching seventh grade social studies, and pastoral appointments at Starrsville, Crossroads, and Athens First United Methodist churches.

I married Katherine in 1985 and we have two children, Marianna and Daniel.

I have been working at Midway for almost 4 years and have been very blessed by the people here. I have also had the pleasure of working with two excellent pastors! I am excited about the direction that Midway is moving and I know that God has big plans for this church!

I have been very involved in my home church on a volunteer basis for several years. I currently serve as the Early Service Coordinator and Outreach Visitation Chair. In addition to those positions I am a certified Lay Speaker. My most recent training was in Lay Pastoral Caregiving.

My husband Bob, and I moved from Michigan to the Atlanta Area in 2002. We have two sons; John and Michael who still live in Michigan. We also have an eight year old baby named Emee who is a 70# Chocolate Lab.
I received my Associates Degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement in 1997 and before moving to Georgia I worked as a 911 Emergency Dispatcher. Now I'm an Administrative Assistant at Midway UMC, go figure!
